About Us

Hello!  I am Hilary.

I am fortunate to have worked in a career I love - helping adults, children and families access learning needs and behavioral therapy for over twenty years. I have worked in homes, schools, foster care, juvenile justice, and integrated medical settings.  I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and am currently completing a second Master's degree in Clinical Social Work.

I believe that support starts with getting curious about what a person is experiencing—not simply trying to make a person fit the life they’re expected to live.

The work I do with adults and children is informed by both my own lived experience as well as formal training in psychology, behavior analysis, education, and social work.

My approach is grounded in applied behavioral science, neurodiversity-affirming practice, and years of experience navigating complicated family, educational, and medical systems.

I believe meaningful work begins with a genuine therapeutic relationship.  I take the time needed to understand the person in front of me, the systems in which they live, what matters to them, and what they want their life to look like.  From there, I’m interested in understanding what gets in the way of a life that works and finding practical, sustainable ways forward.

In addition to behavioral therapy, I also provide remote supervision and consultation for current and future behavior analysts who want to develop thoughtful, behaviorally grounded, person-centered practice that is better integrated into the larger caregiving system their clients live in.

I live this work everyday in my own life.  My experiences as a parent have taught me a great deal about living with uncertainty, advocating for the people you love, responding to changing needs, and letting go of the idea that there is one “right” way to build a life.  I know firsthand that sometimes the hardest but most freeing work is choosing to stay curious and open when things don’t go according to plan.

I live in Florida with my two young adult daughters and our micro-doodle, Luna.  I spend probably more time than necessary planning and counting down the days until my next international trip. In case you are wondering about all of the map metaphors, looking at maps has always been a favorite activity of mine (a map is one of my most prized possessions) and I have an ever-growing collection of favorite places saved on Google Maps—because I like knowing where I might want to wander next as well as remember where I have been.  Maps remind me that there are many ways to get to a destination and part of the fun and frustration is considering all the different paths.

At the heart of my work is something simple: each day, I’m intentionally building a life that is worth living, in a way that fits who I am, using many of the same skills I teach. I believe behavioral therapy and supervision can help other people do the same.
